Exclusive: Watch Brass Music ‘All Stars’ Shred at Skywalker Sound
This is absolutely fantastic. It is a behind-the-scenes of a remake of the legendary 1968 recording of Works of Gabrieli featuring the brass sections of Chicago, Cleveland and Philadelphia Orchestras.
I first heard the original 1968 recordings from my undergraduate trumpet professor, Dr. Lenard Bowie, in 1972 and literally wore the grooves off the record and had to buy him another. Completely impacted the sound of brass in my ears forever. It is so easy to forget exactly what classical brass should sound like. If not, other sounds can become acceptable. Enjoy!
