Congratulations to Maestro DaJuan Evan, who just completed a stint as one of five
protégés selected as conductors to participate in the U.S. Army Band Pershing’s Own
2017 Conductor’s Workshop. The workshop, hosted by Col. Andrew Esch, commander
of Pershing’s Own, was designed to assist in the development for outstanding graduate
student conductors. The conductors had the unique opportunity to work with the U.S
Army’s Concert Band and were coached by Mr. Gary Hill, Director of Bands, Arizona
State University. The event was held at the home of the U.S. Army Band Pershing’s
Own, Bruckner Hall, in Ft. Myer, VA. Mr Evan is studied clarinet at the University of
Arizona and Northwestern University. He was former Drum Major of the Blue Devils
Drum and Bugle Corps and is currently a freelance clarinetist in Chicago.
