Ron McCurdy

Congratulations to MBDNA member, Dr. Ron McCurdy, director of the Disneyland

Resort All-American College Band on yet another great season at the helm of the group.

The AACB is a 21-member band consisting of some of the finest college players in

America is organized as both a marching band and as an outstanding jazz band. The band

performs five times a week in the park for 11 weeks. As a part of the program, the band

receives clinics from some of the finest players in the world. Dr. McCurdy is Professor of

Music at University of Southern California, is former director of the Thelonious Monk

Institute of Jazz of Jazz at USC, and is a consultant to the Grammy Foundation. He is a

member of the Jamie Abersold faculty and holds degrees from Florida A&M University

and his Masters and Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. He has led the AACD since
