Kelvin Jones

Congratulations to Kelvin Jones on his new position as Assistant Director of Bands at

Louisiana State University. His responsibilities include assisting with the "Golden Band

from Tigerland," teaching undergraduate conducting, marching band techniques,

conducting the Symphonic Band, and directing the Bengal Brass.

Jones is a 2011 recipient of the Louisiana Music Educators Association’s Young Music

Educator of the Year and the 2013 recipient of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra’s

Teacher of Distinction. He holds degrees from Jackson State University and LSU. Way
